La Croustille is a café in Amiens, right at Place Gambetta – one of the most important places of the city. It’s not one of the traditional French cafés with old furniture, cute decoration and the colours red and black. La Croustille is a modern place, aiming at attracting young people.
The café doesn’t have a lot of decoration, its simple furniture and fancy creations are enough to love it. You can have fresh made crêpes or waffles with a large variety of sauces, you can have muffins, cookies, hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, cappuchino or just a simple espresso. They also have ice cream (recommended in summer) and other delicious things.
During my time at Amiens I had visited the café several times and had the possibility to try creations like the marshmallow hot chocolate (so much sugar) and the crêpes and it was always delicious! When it’s warmer you can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and watch the people walking around at the large square in the middle of the city centre.
Even if it’s not one of the traditional cafés, from time to time it’s nice to try something new and enjoy some fancy creations there.
