What is it like to live in Algiers? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Algiers is a good city generally. It's not diverse in languages in other words you might need to first put your French and Arabic together before embarking on that beautiful journey to the city. The architecture is so cool, malls, cool places, green parks all around the city. It's a clean city as well. Needless to mention, some parts of the city are densely populated, you might need to keep your bags and pockets tight when you get to such places. Other than that, the rest is cool. Also transport around the city is relatively expensive compared to other cities in the country.

What is the student lifestyle like in Algiers?

Student lifestyle is so cool. There are student buses; so no worries about that. And student hostels are free to every student regardless of where they come from.

How much does it cost to live in Algiers?

The cost of living is relatively lower compared to the cities in Europe. That's all I can say, (I've lived in Koln, Frankfurt, Munich).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Algiers? Is there any advice you can give?

It's actually not difficult, with companies like airbnb for those who want private apartments. For students, accommodation cannot be one of your worries, it's absolutely free. Student hostels are facilitated by the government body for education.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

My favorite food is couscous with beef. The staple food is bread. You can have most of the other cuisines but bread is always there, hehe....if you know what I'm talking about.

What places would you recommend visiting in Algiers?

Hmmmm...I think the entire city is beautiful. Many old sites and the Mediterranean Sea end are my favourite.
