Louisiana Café Rock

This bar is one of the most famous in the city of Alcalá, given that it has been open for approximately 20 years. It has been partying in the city for a few generations of young people (and not so young people). And the model is so simple that it is impossible for it not to be successful.

Inside

The place consists of a single bar that isn't very big, and it's located at the back. On the right of the bar there is a classic table football, a table that can be found in any kind of Spanish bar, and a dart board to play darts on. Without much space, due to the games area, there are bathrooms that have toilets and sinks. Nothing else. Although, there is space to dance, there are two tables and a sofa with another two tables next to the pub's window.

At first, it can seem like any other dump. Which it is. But part of its success, I would say, is that aesthetic itself, which is dedicated to rock, like the name suggests. The walls are filled with posters of music bands like the Who, the Beatles, or Jimmy Hendrix. There are photos and pictures of the most varied music. Next to the table football, there is an enormous jukebox that I don't know if it works or not, but it looks great. There is also a TV screen that is not usually in use.

The music is great. Hard rock, indie rock, britpop... As much national stuff as international as well. Furthermore, as well as being such a small place, to a large extent family-sized, you can ask the waiters for a specific song and it's most likely that they will put it on for you, and that's another important aspect of this place: the waiters are very friendly and close by.

The price range is one of the best that you can find in the city. There are all kinds of offers. One of the ones that stands out the most is the 2x1 offers on pints of beer before midnight, or jägerbombs for only €2. Although, those shots in question don't hold a candle to the shots cocktails. At the bar, you can ask for the cocktail menu, a piece of paper where all the mixtures of shots that they offer are. And I can definitely say that they taste good and they load them up well. Quite well, quite well... Many of them are really strong. With all different types of alcohol (and acceptable brands) you can choose between 2 cocktails for €10, or 3 cocktails for €16. It is perfect to go with a group of friends to take shots that taste good, listen to music and chat.

Outside

One of the things that caught my attention about this place was that there is always a good environment at the doors of the bar. It is common that people go outside to smoke, or they go to talk and then return to have another drink, as there isn't much space on the inside.

The people that usually visit the bar are usually people very involved in the world of rock. There are very different people, the most fun that you will find in the city. I have had more than one very strange interaction in the early hours of the morning at the doors of the Louisiana, and that's because people usually drink a lot here. Funny things always happen outside. But always due to the good vibes and the "colegeo".
