What is it like to live in Sofia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I was born in Sofia, this is my city and I love it ! It is the capital of Bulgaria and the biggest city so all the opportunities are here.

What is the student lifestyle like in Sofia?

Most of the universities are located in Sofia.Many people from different cities come to study here.The student lifestyle here is interesting especially if Sofia is not your own town.There is a big neighborhood- "Studentski grad" where almost all of the university buildings are located and all of the students live there.There are a lot of restaurants,bars,cafes and places where you can go out with friends after the long and exhausted day of studying.Wherever you go everywhere there are only young people around you.The atmosphere is full with life and happiness.

How much does it cost to live in Sofia?

About 450-500 euro

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Sofia? Is there any advice you can give?

There are many websites where people publish different ads and you can find what you are looking for ! :)

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are many traditional Bulgarian foods.I love "Musaka" which is mix of potatoes and meet with diversity of spices.It's delicious ! Another one is "Tarator" which is cold summer soup with yogurt and cucumbers inside. Everybody loves this!

What places would you recommend visiting in Sofia?

There are a lot of interesting places which you can visit if you are in Sofia.
Firstly I recommend St.Alexander Nevski temple which is the biggest one in Bulgaria.It is located at the top center of Sofia.Next to it is the perennial fire which is the symbol of the town.Close to them you can visit the Russian church, Vitosha street which is the main street with many coffee shops and shops,the National palace of culture which is one of the monuments of Sofia city...and many many others...

Is it good to eat out in Sofia? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Sofia offers many places where you can go out for drink or to have dinner.My fav are Fancy, Happy bar and grill and some Greek reastaurants.There are a lot of places which have typical Bulgarian atmosphere inside and are very attractive for the tourists.

Is the nightlife good in Sofia? Where is good to go?

Night life in Sofia is great ! Young people here love to go out.From Thursday until Saturday all clubs are full with cheerful and energetic faces who are there to have fun!There are a lot of places in the downtown and of course many disco clubs at the mentioned neighborhood of the students "Studentski grad".

What advice would you give future students heading to Sofia?

Sofia is one great place which can offer much to those who wants to know it ! Come and see it by yourselves ! :-)))))
