Why did you choose to go to Sofia, Bulgaria?

I'm a big fan of the balkans, nature is so beautiful here, Sofia is in the middle and therefor the perfect place to travel from to other balkan countries

What is the student lifestyle like in Sofia?

the erasmus student life is totally different from the bulgarian students. It's well organized, a lot of party's..

Would you recommend the city and the University of Sofia to other students?

Yes, but be open-minded, this is a beautiful part of Europe, but different, you have to know and accept that.

What is the food like?

Meaty, and as a vegetarian it's not always easy, but more than OK.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Sofia?

Not very easy, but it works. Dormitories are very cheap, rented flats are cheaper then other European capitals

How much does it cost to live in Sofia?

200 per month

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, if you are not used to slavic languages, like me, it's not very easy. But very interesting, I entered a language course from the university.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Sofia from your city?

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Sofia?

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Sofia in the future?

Learn to read cyrillic before you come, learn the language when you arrive. Be open-minded, enjoy the difference, and you will love it.
