Why did you choose to go to Barcelona, Spain?

Actually I chose to go on Erasmus in Barcelona because I really wanted to live in a big city experiencing all the things that big cities have to offer, but I wanted it also to be near to the seaside and full of funny things to do for a young person. Barcelona looked just perfect for this!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I have a scholarship for 6 months and I am getting 230 euros per month, which is OK for Spain, but not really enough for Barcelona.

What is the student lifestyle like in Barcelona?

If you choose to attend more than 2 courses (and it's definitely worth since in Spain they are a bit easier than in the rest of Europe), you'll probably have to be at University everyday for some hours. Attendance most of the time is compulsory. You spend the rest of the time discovering the city (which you never stop), going to the beach or parks, or just hanging out with friends. And in the night of course partying!

Would you recommend the city and the University of Barcelona to other students?

Yes, I would if you are the kind of person who likes partying and hanging out a lot.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Barcelona?

It's quite hard, but you have to have patience and keep on trying to find what fits you.

How much does it cost to live in Barcelona?

I would say starting from 650 euros per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, but the problem is that everyone speaks Catalan and not Spanish, so it's a little bit harder. Also my university offered a free Catalan course but for the Spanish one you have to pay 150 euros.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Barcelona from your city?

Plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Barcelona?

In Barrio Gótico pre-drinking and in one of the hundreds of clubs in which as an Erasmus student you can get free entrance.
