What is it like to live in Arnhem? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It is nice to live in Arnhem. It's a central located city in the Netherlands. The city itself is very nice but it is also easy to visit other big cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht.

What is the student lifestyle like in Arnhem?

There are lots of students in Arnhem, both Dutch and foreign. There is no campus at the University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem so all students are spread over the city.

How much does it cost to live in Arnhem?

You can rent a room for between €300 and €400. Compared to some other cities in the Netherlands like Amsterdam the prices for rooms in Arnhem are better.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Arnhem? Is there any advice you can give?

There are a lot of accommodations available in Arnhem. There are a lot of websites where you can find the available rooms like this. There is also a Facebook page or just search for "Kamer Arnhem" on Facebook.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You can find all kind of food in the Netherlands, so everyone can eat what he or she likes. There is a big offer in Chinese and Italian food. In all supermarkets you can find a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables and fresh bread (Dutch people eat a lot of bread! ). Dutch people are used to eating potatoes, vegetables and meat often.

Everyone should try "Frikadel" which you can buy at a snackbar or in the supermarket (then you need a frying pan).

What places would you recommend visiting in Arnhem?

Everyone should visit the "Sonsbeekpark" which is a park / pleasure ground with water and grass where a lot of students (and other people) chill and take drinks during the summer. It has a relaxing atmosphere.

Is it good to eat out in Arnhem? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There are enough places to eat but in my opinion it is not very very special. I prefer to go to Korenmarkt, which is a nice plaza. Here you can find the restaurant "Pinoccio". They offer all kinds of food (fish, meat, pizza's and pasta's) for a very good price and everything tastes very well!

La Cubanita is a very nice tapas restaurant. It's all you can eat for €22. 50.

Is the nightlife good in Arnhem? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is nice in Arnhem. Especially on thursday and saturdaynight. At the Korenmarkt (which I mentioned before) you can find a couple of bars and discotheques. You can party until 4 or 5 am. I prefer to go to the Aspen Valley or Plaza.
