depends on the locality, but the minimum cost for a unfurnished room would be around 350 euros

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I am still trying....yes there are private courses available..bit you need to be self-motivated to learn a new language

a lot depends on what kind of food you want..... it is all over the city

there are nice world war museums you can go to
