Program description
The MA is an intensive specialisation programme based on the development of practical projects. Students learn how to research and apply fashion tools and languages to create a rich portfolio. By activating knowledge and visual representation techniques, the MA mixes theoretical, artistic and technical elements, trasforming them into effective statements of style and thought. From the a. y. 2021/2022 two new and distinct programmes, the MA in Fashion Design and the MA in Textile Design, will enrich NABA educational offer.

Over the AM, students will have the opportunity to:
- Evaluate the fashion phenomenon as an articulated visual language, with self-awareness in terms of skills and style, interpreting and translating ideas into high-quality projects
- Use complex methodologies to show their ability to create articulate solutions for manifold projects, starting from research and analysis, to the design process and its representation and communication
- Professionally carry out and manage all the production phases, while showing acquaintance with a wide number of applications, knowledge and skills
Study Plan
The Master of Arts deepens the student’s knowledge with highly specialized and advanced studies, allowing the student to define his skills and making possible a first-hand experience within the professional context through field experiences.
First year
Students are encouraged to think of the meaning of contemporary fashion and to express their own point of view through the experimentation, in a permanent and in-depth workshop of fashion and textile design, history of art and of costume, pattern making, phenomenology of styles.
Second year
Through a methodology deeply rooted into the project and advanced studies in fashion design and project methodology of visual communication, students learn how to create a professional collections' portfolio and multimedia visual contents.
