What is it like to live in Zurich? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Zurich is one of the most beautiful cities, with nature all around and beautiful landscapes. Summers are really enjoyable with bath places at river and lake to swim. Its really nice for health freaks, for finding good and affordable parties you have to be really connected however. Its very nice, small, comfortable but very expensive.
What is the student lifestyle like in Zurich?
Its very nice to be a student in Zurich as it allows you a lot of silence and inspiration to concentrate and develop. Try to find a part-time job as they are well paid and can offset the expensive lifestyle that the city imposes. Try to learn German as its hard to find a job without knowing it.
How much does it cost to live in Zurich?
Anywhere between 1000-1800 swiss francs
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Zurich? Is there any advice you can give?
It is very difficult to find a accomodation, even more to find a good one. Keep looking on woko, ronorp and university marketplace ads. German knowledge helps here again
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Swiss sausages and Rosti cannot be missed, also try Fondue in the winters
What places would you recommend visiting in Zurich?
Utliberg hill, ETH main building, the museums and lakes
Is it good to eat out in Zurich? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Its very expensive to go and eat out, but Sternen grille in Bellevue is really nice so are many taverns in Neiderdorf.
Is the nightlife good in Zurich? Where is good to go?
Its so so, Try El Lokal, Xenix, Cabaret Voltaire, Rotefabrik
What advice would you give future students heading to Zurich?
Learn German and be prepared to spend a lot of money and look for a accommodation in advance
