What is it like to live in Zurich? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The life in Zurich is pretty organised. It has one of the best transportation system I have ever experienced and it's super convenient to travel around the city.

What is the student lifestyle like in Zurich?

My decision to come to ETH Zurich for masters studies has been very fruitful. I have met students from every part of the globe and their experience has given me a different perspective. Needless to say that the faculty of the university is amazing and always supportive.

How much does it cost to live in Zurich?

The cost is the only downside of the city. It's quite expensive in terms of accommodation and food as well.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Zurich? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not impossible to find a good place at a reasonable price but I would suggest that students explore all the options such as Erasmus, Facebook and other social media sites. It's better to start looking early and last minute arrangements are bound to be expensive.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I'm personally someone who likes cheese so my favorite dishes include raclette and Fondue (specifically the chocolate one).

What places would you recommend visiting in Zurich?

I would recommend to visit the lake, Bahnofstarasse and nearby areas. For those who are interested in clubbing, Hive would be my recommendation. And there are quite a few places for hiking as well around the city such as Richterswil.

Is it good to eat out in Zurich? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

One should definitely visit Zunfthaus and La fonte. There are many more but I would suggest these two for sure.

Is the nightlife good in Zurich? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is good but mostly during the weekends you would find time to hang out. However there are plenty of clubs and pubs to visit if you are interested in exploring the nightlife in the city.

What advice would you give future students heading to Zurich?

Zurich definitely lives up to the expectations. It is one of the best cities if you are planning to move in Switzerland for your studies or job. Despite being expensive, you will not regret spending money on your travel around the city since it's totally worth it.
