Zürich is small and cosy and cosmopolitan at the same time.

Every part of the city has its own atmosphere, ranging from super chic to down to earth. The city is extremely expensive though.

Zürich counting many students, but the city is more than that.

How much does it cost to live in Zurich?

There is no place where life is more expensive than in Zürich. You better make sure the place you stay is equipped with a kitchen, because eating out is killing for your budget.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Zurich? Is there any advice you can give?

There are plenty of rooms to find and houses or appartments to share.

The web site Immoscout may help you to find a room. If you look for a room somewhat out of Zürich you will have more chance to find what you need. Public transport is perfect, so, even at 5-10 kms out of city centre you won't feel lost and you will still be in the City Centre within minutes.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is international cuisine.

What places would you recommend visiting in Zurich?

Definitely the lake shore: always vibrant. Especially in summer.

Is it good to eat out in Zurich? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There is a small bistro on a bridge, south of Hauptbahnhof, at the river Sihl where you can have food and drinks and a good atmosphere. Sitting under a tree, with the river at your feet and the traffic around you. It is Zürich at its best.

Is the nightlife good in Zurich? Where is good to go?

I don't know about nightlife, but the small wooden movie theatre Kino Xenix at Stauffacherstrasse, with bar and outside benches, is nice to go to in the evening.

What advice would you give future students heading to Zurich?

Find yourself a job.
