Why did you choose to go to Zurich, Switzerland?

Because ETH is really well-known for Electrical Engineers as one of the bests in the field, which is what I am studying.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I will have stayed, in the end, around 6 months (From end of August to middle February). And I get from, different scolarships, an amount of 390 € per month, which is quite good if I was in Poland, or Italy, but not enough for Switzerland (specially Zurich).

What is the food like?

The food from the university menza is quite good! It costs around 6-7 CHF and it is normally healthy food. The food from restaurants I can't say my opinion, because I have never tried due to its high cost.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Zurich?

Yes, it was quite stressful and difficult.

How much does it cost to live in Zurich?

Around 1200 CHF per month, without wasting too much...

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, there are. If you plan to come to Zurich to learn German, it's not a good idea though. They speak swiss-german, which is quite different, and it makes learning really confusing, sometimes.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Zurich from your city?

Easy-jet or Vueling, then take the regular train to Zurich.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Bellevue, Uetliberg, the city center, Bahnhoffstrasse...

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Zurich in the future?

1. Assume you are going to spend a lot of money here, and try to get the most from the stance.
2. Get the halbtax and gleiss sieben tickets and travel to deux Alps in the summer... I regret having done it.
3. If you come in Summer, the city is amazing..., so much things to do compared with winter. You can go to swim to the Limmatz river!
