What is it like to live in Zagreb? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Zagreb has almost one million people and it is the largest Croatian city. Comparing with other European cities it is safe and not so expensive. The city is very nice and similar to other central European cities.
What is the student lifestyle like in Zagreb?
Most of the students stay in the student dormitories where they have cheap student restaurants and bars.
How much does it cost to live in Zagreb?
Around 600 euro/month.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Zagreb? Is there any advice you can give?
It is not. The best is to ask the university for student dormitories which are not expensive and a lot of Croatian students are living there. Also, you can connect with other Erasmus students on Facebook and look for a flat to share.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is great. My favorite dishes are Zagreb steak, Štrukli, Sarma, Beans with meat.
What places would you recommend visiting in Zagreb?
Bundek, Square ban Jelačić, the old part of the city, museums.
Is it good to eat out in Zagreb? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
To eat out in Zagreb is not so expensive. My favorite spot is Nocturno which is located in city centre (Skalinska Ulica. )
Is the nightlife good in Zagreb? Where is good to go?
Nightlife is good. My favorite places are Lemon, History, Peppermint...
What advice would you give future students heading to Zagreb?
Explore the city and try to visit other cities, especially Croatian cost which is beautiful.
