What is it like to live in Zagreb? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It is so nice and easy to live in Zagreb. It is so friendly and romantic city with rich and old history. Zagrebcani (citizen's) love fashion, food and good lifestyle. Most specific thing in Zagreb is how much people love to socialize with each other's, and how friendly they are, and that is specific for all Croatia.

Every visitor need to visit upper town, its old part of city and its centre of city life. Tremendously beautiful city.

What is the student lifestyle like in Zagreb?

Students life is rich and full of events, festivals, and good times.

Cheep food, cheep accommodation, beautiful and friendly.

How much does it cost to live in Zagreb?

Zagreb is a really cheep city compared with rest of Europe. Average meal price in nice restaurant is €7, monthly rent of two room apartment is between €200-300 depending on location. I will say like this - for all monthly life expectancy (rent, food, life, etc. ) you will need to have approx. 400€. Considering that by Croatian standard monthly paycheck is approx. €500-600. Croatia and Zagreb are really cheap places to go, travel or live.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Zagreb? Is there any advice you can give?

It is really easy to find accommodation in Zagreb. There is one web page for all service that you need or you can also ask first person in any streets about accommodation. Also public advertising for rent is everywhere. Almost everyone speaks English, so its really easy.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food in all Croatia is amazing, probably best food in Europe. Croatia is beautiful Mediterranean country and have influence on food from Italy, Germany, Hungary, Turkey, Spain, France.

Every visitor need to try Zagreb steak, kremsnite, and zagrebacke strukli, also peku, seafood, cevepcice, njam njam, etc. Also Croatia is famous in world about wine production, there are a huge selection of local production.

Also every city and every small local city or village have they on local specialists. From North to South, from East to West, Croatia is just amazing.

What places would you recommend visiting in Zagreb?

Depending how old you are and what you want Zagreb can offer you everything from bars, pubs, nightclubs, festivals, sport and recreation, national park's, beautiful sea, astonishing mountain's, culture and history... Zagreb and Croatia can offer you everything.

Is it good to eat out in Zagreb? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Zagreb have crazy good food. I can recommend Pub Medvedgrad that is located in city centre. Local food and local home made beer. But you will not make mistake if you will go in any restaurant because food in Croatia is the best of Europe.

Is the nightlife good in Zagreb? Where is good to go?

Nightlife is really good in Zagreb, depending what you want, they can offer everything. From life performance on upper town, club music and live gigs (any style, any subcultures) you will find everything. For more trendy palaces I recommend Zagrebacki Jarun its lake in centre of city with a lot of clubs.

What advice would you give future students heading to Zagreb?

Just relax and enjoy, you will love it.
