What is it like to live in Zagreb? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Zagreb is very interesting. Zagreb is the Main city of Croatia, moreover it is the biggest and most inhabited city. Zagreb is beautiful (architecture, nature..) and is full of high quality restaurants, museums, schools and more.

What is the student lifestyle like in Zagreb?

Zagreb is perfect for students. It offers a variety of clubs, coffee shops, shopping malls etc but is quite affordable. Food and drinks are cheap as well as clothing stores, but clubs can be a little expensive.

How much does it cost to live in Zagreb?

If you live alone you would probably need up to 500 euros per month.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Zagreb? Is there any advice you can give?

I don’t think so. There are a lot of landlords and the price depends on neighborhoods and conditions of rooms. But compared to other eu cities it is cheap.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is one of the best in Europe. When it comes to national cuisine I strongly recommend “štrukle”.

What places would you recommend visiting in Zagreb?

Zagreb cathedral, national theater, any museum really but historical museum is my favorite. Also I recommend attending football games on Maksimir stadium.

Is it good to eat out in Zagreb? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, since it is not expensive. You can eat well for 20 euros max. In most restaurants.

Football and tennis

Is the nightlife good in Zagreb? Where is good to go?

Very good. In Zagreb you can either find two types of clubs: clubs with regional music called “Narodna Glazba” and clubs with foreign music.

I recommend : h20, ritz for national music and Opera, johann frank for foreign music.
Socol club is mix of both

What advice would you give future students heading to Zagreb?

Hmm.... I think you made a great choice by choosing Zagreb since it is very cheap for international students, most people speak English and Zagreb offers great food, drinks and activities for young people.
