Why did you choose to go to Zagreb, Croatia?

A friend of mine went there last year and when she got back, she was super excited and totally in love with the city. It's a beautiful city, with lots of fun events and interesting people. And if you're an architecture lover, you'll definitely be charmed by Zagreb.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship was for 2 months. It was a summer internship at the vet cliniques. I was there with AUF, which is like the french version of Erasmus. I was receiving 810 € per month and I even got back home with money... so, it's not really expensive. And if you're coming from the northern countries, like Norway or Finland, you'll definitely say everything is cheap.

What is the student lifestyle like in Zagreb?

You have lots to do. There are really cute cafes, good restaurants, places to visit, in Zagreb and around. If you have an international student ID, you can get a 50% discount for almost everything.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Zagreb to other students?

Yes, definitely.

What is the food like?

It's good, really tasty, but in the end, it depends on your taste. I was disappointed that I didn't find a restaurant with traditional Croatian food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Zagreb?

For me, no. I found my accommodation in a facebook group for Erasmus students in Zagreb.

How much does it cost to live in Zagreb?

It depends. As a student, if you chose to stay in the student hall, you cand live really well with 400-500 € per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It's an interesting language, pretty hard to learn. But not impossible.

I don't know about courses at the university.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Zagreb from your city?

The easiest is by plane, in 2 hours I was in Zagreb. The most economical would have been the bus, but it takes almost 2 days and I have to change buses in another country.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Zagreb?

In the city center. There are cafes with specific themes.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Zagreb?

Nocturno, in the city center. The best food I've had in Zagreb!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The city center, the parks, the museums...

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Zagreb in the future?

Make the most of your stay, you'll regret it otherwise.
