Why did you choose to go to Zagreb, Croatia?

Nice weather. You have mountains, landscapes, the sea, the city, so everything. It's close to a lot of other interesting cities. And because of the courses.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Around 250 euro each month. It's enough for the rent and food. But for other extra's like drinks, traveling you need money of your own.

What is the student lifestyle like in Zagreb?

Very common. It has a relaxed chilling atmosphere in the day and the party life in the night, perfect combination.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Zagreb to other students?

Yes!

What is the food like?

Not good not bad, but really cheap. You should go to mensa (studentrestaurants) to eat, it is super cheap.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Zagreb?

No.

How much does it cost to live in Zagreb?

Around 300 euro a month : rent around 120 euro (average), food around 100 euro, and extras.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are language courses but it's a very hard language, trust me.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Zagreb from your city?

There are trams every 5 minutes. When going out there are night busses.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Zagreb?

Klub mocvara, Vintage bar, Ziraffa (very cheap), alcatraz, hollywood bar, swanky monkey, I could go on and on. There are things for everyone!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Zagreb?

Yellow submarine (burgers). Umami (Asian food). Everything in skalinska.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Parks, cemetry, cathedral, old city, shops, Trg bana jelacica, trg marsala tita, museums, etc.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Zagreb in the future?

Work for your money before going to Zagreb so you can enjoy your stay in Zagreb, but also so you can travel to other cities and countries. Because it's amazing!
