Erasmus Exchange at Wolverhampton (England)

I spent an Erasmus exchange year at the University of Wolverhampton (2012-2013 course year) in the Product Design Studies.

It was an exchange at the College of Art and Craft on Rennes Centre, and I enjoyed it a lot! The university is quite expensive (they ask for around 10. 000 £ per year for an European student), but as an Erasmus student, as this is an exchange program between two partner Universities, you only need to pay the costs from your university of origin.

Thus, this university provides many good working conditions and quality services for the students: like a huge library open 24/7 in periods of exams, a lot of computers and various materials according to your course; many different buildings, many staff people at service of students always; an economic sport centre and availability of a wide range of events and activities often organised, among others.

In my case, I studied Product Design there for my first year of Master, after obtaining my degree in Design in Rennes (France, Brittany) at EESAB Art and Craft School. Compared to my current originally school, this uni gave me a quite professionalising experience, and some technical skills in industrial design and graphics, that I hadn't really explored before. They used to use the Solidworks (CAD) software to sketch the projects in 3D, and you need to hand-in a whole report of your personal or group projects, including 3D renders, some models and technical drawings...

The building has class rooms, amphitheatres, several workshops like in wood, plastic, metal, glass, fabric or clay, and many others that are very interesting and big, supervised by professional tutors. The teachers are really cool and approachable; the lessons are also quite attractive and instructive.

Apart from the really good experience I had studying there, I also made of lot of incredible people from different origins, as this university used to welcome many international students. So we did a lot of parties there: in clubbing, houses parties, and typical pubs; mad, awesome and cheap trips by coach around UK (as there are no board between countries in UK, travelling is really easy and cheap for international people).

So as I said before, I enjoyed a lot!

Feel free to ask me any questions if you want to know more about it!
