No. The Uni helps you to find accommodation.

How much does it cost to live in Weimar?

The flat rent it's less than 300 for a student and you can eat on Mensa for less than 3 euros.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The University gives you a free intensive course of German.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Weimar from your city?

By bus. If you are a student you will have the Toska card and you would be able to travel arround the city and even the region for "free".

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Weimar it's a cultural city, there are a lot of things to visit, google :*
