Sharing

If you decide to come in Erasmus the first thing you have to learn is sharing. You will not only share the flat, the kitchen and the bathroom, Erasmus is all about sharing. And you better learn to get along with everyone because not getting along can limit you in all senses. One day you'll share your dinner with a friend that still hasn't got his money from the scholarship or from his parents. Because some other day it can also be you. All you share in Erasmus it comes back multiplied. It`s difficult to get a long with everyone when we are all so different coming from totaly different parts of the world. But this is what Erasmus is about - learning more about other cultures, what you can say and what you cannot. Probably an exchange programme is a plus education about behaving ourselves with others.

All the foreign students tend to separate in groups from the very beginning. From this groups you can often see spanish with italian and portuguese, and british with americans, canadians, australians and finnish. We usually devide by costums, traditions and language. But Erasmus is a big opportunity of making contacts that can guide you in their own countries in the future. So try to get along with everyone, run from other`s conflicts and never be mean. I think this time in Weimar taught me to be patient and made me realised that everyone respects you when you first show respect. It also taught me that all conflicts can be solved talking and negotiating. It serves for nothing keeping the bad feelings for yourself.
