Make German Friends!

I am quite sure that anyone of you who studied in Germany has experienced many difficulties in relation with german students. I remeber myself at the beginning trying to communicate with them in english, big mistake! German people are open minded persons, but not as much as spanish. Most of them speak poor english and they usualy avoid speaking it. But there are many exceptions. Before having german friends seemed impossible to me. They are having their own parties, far from the Erasmus students and from time to time we all meet at big general parties. The first days at class I even started to hate german students. If we had to do some projects together, Erasmus students were not alowed to give opinions. I even talked with my german teacher explaining the differences between South;warm cultures; and North;cold cultures;.

But I recognize now that having german friends helped me a lot here. Sometimes they have difficulties with english and me with german and this way we make an exchange. This is the best and fastest way to get to know the language and their way of being. It helped me a lot with my german.
