German people about Football

This is quite a strong topic to talk about in Germany. Every german is a supporter of it's own city team. This is a tradition. And if you happen to be a supporter of another team than your city's - you are considered to be a traitor. There are few holidays in Germany when they are not sopposed to study or work during the week. But when they have an important match, there is nothing that can keep then off from watching it. Once coming back from München by train I entered in a conversation with a german girl who explained me the importance of football for geman people. She told me that in the last World Cup when playing against Spain the students were sent home to watch the match and the classes were all cancelled. The spanish students from last year told me they tried to celebrate as quiet as possible no to upset them:).
