Deutsche Bahn

Germany is very proud of its train system even if is the most expensive way of traveling here. You can find many good offers in it's webpage www.bahn.de, and if you don't understand german there is some information you can consult in english, spanish and many other languages. You can buy the tickets on-line with registration or without. The weekend and regional tickets you can buy them on-line or at the train station. If you choose one of these 2 kind of tickets it could help printing all the connections with regional trains from the start to the destination. It's the same machine where you buy tickets, you just print the connection without buying the ticket.

And if you want to take a faster Inter City trains (IC or ICE) check on-line for sales. If you buy for more persons together it's even cheaper. When you buy the ticket you can also buy a seat (2, 50 euro), it's not necessary but sometimes is difficult finding one. You can choose where you want to seat (window or corridor) and in the ICE you also have the option of the silent room Ruhebereich where you can't talk by cell phone or disturb other people. If you talk by phone here it's unrespectfull.;Handybereich; - here you have the permission to talk on the phone.

Another detail about the discount cards. There are called BahnCard and give you a 25%, 50% or 100% off the price of any ticket (Bahncard 25, Bahncard 50, Bahncard 100). The 25 BahnCard is the less expensive (57 euro per year). But there is also a Probe Card with 25 % of for 4 months that costs 25 euro. It's quite useful if you travel a lot by train.
