Generally, what is Wayne State University like?

An excellent place to study, live, and the best way to fully experience Detroit. In my view Detroit without Wayne State (all the departments) will not be the same.

What are the facilities like?

Both classic and modern. You will enjoy your learning experience because the facilities are very welcoming and designed to enhance your learning capacity. It really depends on the subject matter that you will study, but one thing is certain. You will have all the necessary resources at your disposal.

What are the tutors like?

Generally the best students will tutor you, if need be. You will not pay the students that tutor you. If you need help in a particular lesson or class, you should feel free to ask one of the students that are doing well in that subject to tutor you. People will gladly offer their help. I tutored for a few months as well. Two of my classmates asked me if I could help, and I was happy to do it during the weekends or weekdays, depending on our schedules.

Are the lessons easy in Wayne State University?

Wayne State is an institution that takes pride in offering the best courses. It is challenging, but professors make the lessons interesting. You will be fine, if you prepare yourself. Make sure that you work hard and play hard :)

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

There will always be activities. Travels, sports, fundraisers, student organization, and many other things. It all depends on your willingness to do things and of course your time. I was involved in some fundraising events, and student organizations. My time was very limited and I wish to have been involved in all the available activities. I am sure that you will have more to say about the fun and meaningful activities organized by Wayne State University.

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

Absolutely! I had the pleasure and privilege to have studied at the Liberal Arts department, the Business School, and for three years at the Law school. All three are part of Wayne State University. If you saw my transcript you will notice that I was enrolled in many classes, which were very different from each other. Every single professor was extremely prepared, well recognized in the field, and in my view of the highest caliber. After studying there, you will agree with me 100%.

Are there any stories you can share?

There are many stories, but I will share with you something that goes beyond the academic life. Wayne State (the law school, business school, engineering, liberal arts, and all the other departments) has the support of many distinguished people that previously attended Wayne State. They have always donated large sums of money in order to bring the best faculty, update the infrastructure, and support students who are in financial difficulty. I was always in financial difficulty and without the scholarships that the school offered, it would have been very difficult for me to attend Wayne State (by the way Wayne State's tuition is reasonable in the context of tuition for higher education in USA). In many cases I met with the donors and talked about my school experience. Not only did they help me and many others, but they also inspired me to be one of them in the future. All my classmates felt the same, and I am certain that we all will contribute in different ways to continuously improve Wayne State University.
