Why did you choose to go to Viterbo, Italia?

I had three countries to choose, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Italy. I've been in Slovakia and Czech Republic several times, because they're neighbours of my Homeland, Poland. I just wanted to get somewhere further, to visit the world uknown to me.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I've been in Viterbo for about 4, 5 months, one semester exactly. I've received about 1350 euro to live for this whole time. I had to spend much more, from my own pocket.

What is the student lifestyle like in Viterbo?

Parties, parties, parties and a little study.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Viterbo to other students?

Sure, the city is awesome. For me, as a historian of middle ages it was like heaven. Many old things to see. and, of course, many clubs to visit. Not far from Rome as well. The University is also nice, so much free time for sightseeing and parties.

What is the food like?

Quite good. I like Italian pizza, so I could reccommend some pizzerias like Monastero, and some smaller in the centre. Italian bakery sucks in my opinion, and I had to buy toast bread in Lidl.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Viterbo?

No, the coordinators helped me to find a flat, because I didn't get a room in the student's house. In the end I got an awesome room in a well equiped flat in the Historical Centre, in a medieval building.

How much does it cost to live in Viterbo?

I had to pay 150 euro monthly for a flat ( I've lived with 2 more people, so it was cheaper), 15 euro monthly for an internet, and about 20 euro for the electricity, gas, central heating etc.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yep, there's a course of Italian. It's quite hard to speak English with the people of Viterbo, except the teachers and students from IESN.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Viterbo from your city?

By plane to Rome, and then from the station Roma Ostiense or Termini, to Viterbo.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Viterbo?

Reverse Discopub, Students House

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Viterbo?

There are many good restaurants in the centre of Viterbo, one of my favourites was Pizzeria DJ near Porta Romana, and Monastero.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Plenty of them, it's difficult to count them all.
