Me VS Vienna
Vienna for one day
So. I get off the bus, into a cab and right to my apartment. I carry my huge suitcases up on two sets of stairs and open the door to this cute place. This building is probably more than 100 years old (like most buildings in Vienna) and for me, that makes it interesting. It must've been the hottest day ever - at least it felt like that.
I open my suitcases, unpack and realise my stuff is all over the place. A couple of hours and a shower later, I go shopping, because - obviously - I don't have anything to eat and I'm starving. The first supermarket I see is Billa, so I bought my stuff there. A piece of advice, I learnt it the hard way, Billa is expensive; so is Spar/Interspar. I recommend Hofer and Penny for grocery shopping and DM for things you need in your bathroom and kitchen. On my first day here, I went to Schönnbrunn because I live really close by. It's definitely a must see! The park is as gorgeous as it is big, the Palace is just breathtaking and it is the perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon at.
First impressions of a lively City
The subway is the best way to get anywhere. There is a student discount, but only if you have an Austrian student ID. Otherwise, it's 49 €/month. There are lots of coffee shops and restaurants all around the city, and they are really cute and pretty and most of them allow pets. There are shopping streets and parks and many nice things to see in Vienna, but I will talk about these in my next post!
P. S. : I will try to give you details and useful information, as well as entertain you with some of my stories because I'm sharing my experience and it's inevitable that I put myself in it. Thanks!
