HOW TO WRITE AN ARGUMENT TEXT IN 6 STEPS. Now let's see how to make an argumentative subject: take notes!

1. Presentation of the general topic.

Before presenting your thesis, in a good argumentative text, it is good to introduce the reader to the topic that will be discussed. We will contain a general description of the topic, in which are presented some details and some aspects that can be useful to validate our thesis. This first step is useful to make the reader feel comfortable reading the argumentative text.

2. The thesis.

Exposing your thesis, clarifying your opinion in detail. Avoid overly long and complex times, place sentences in optic cause-effect. Following the good rules of journalism, check that your text works if it answers the following questions: who / where / when / how / why?

3. The arguments in your favor.

Display all the data and arguments that are in your favor, emphasizing the link with your thesis. Make sure of the truthfulness of the data and statements that you will report, and explain the arguments in such a way that the logic of your reasoning is clear to the reader.

4. Antithesis.

At this stage your argumentative text must tell the ideas and opinions opposed to yours. Also in this case, be precise and detailed in the exhibition. The validity of your thesis must be based on certain data, not on an intellectual deception. (In this case the teacher may not appreciate the task).

5. Arguments in favor of the antithesis.

To discuss topics that contrast your thesis and support the antithesis, use the "contrast" technique. Break the antithesis in several points and refute them one after the other, countering the data in your favor. Logical reasoning will thus be enhanced.

6. Conclusion

Once you remove the antithesis point by point and refute the arguments against you reiterate and reconfirm your thesis, in a synthetic way, based on the strengths of the thesis itself. You could also try to expose a possible solution to the antithesis, but if it is denied altogether, it will not be necessary.
