Why did you decide to go to Valletta, in Malta?

It is close to the university of Malta, but there are also other towns nearby that are better for Erasmus students, such as Sliema or Gzira.

How long does the Erasmus grant last? How much does the Erasmus loan amount to?

The Erasmus study loan last from 6 months to a year and for students it amounts to an average of €300 per month (You only have to pay for rent).

What is student life like in Valletta?

Valletta is not a student city. For Erasmus parties you have to travel to Paceville, which is a 20 minute bus ride from Valletta.

Would you advise the city and the university of Valletta to other students?

Yes, I would recommend the city of Sliema and the university of Malta for sure!

What is the food like in Malta?

It is a Mediteranian style of cuisine, very similar to countries such as Italy, Greece, Spain etc.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Valletta?

No, there is a very active real estate market!

What are the living costs like in Valletta?

It costs approximately €300 for rent and the cost of living is also quite fair and averaging many Mediterranean prices.

How did you find the language? Did you attend any language courses at the university?

I attended an Elanguest course.

What is the cheapest way to arrive in Valletta from your city?

Many of the main cities in Italy (as well as of course most other European cities) offer flights directly to the island of Malta.

Where would you advise for going o tin Valletta during the evening?

You can go to Paceville or Sliema.

What do you recommend visiting whilst there?

On the island of Malta, there are 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

What advice would you give to future students of Valletta?

I recommend that you do an English language course before arriving in Malta, as other than Maltese, English is a very prominent language on the island due to its historical history with Britain.
