Bar area San Miguel

San Miguel is a party area in Valladolid with different bars of similar atmosphere. Several bars are gathered in the same area, so if you get tired of one bar you can go to another without any problem. In one of them, for example, there are shishas that you can enjoy while you are having a drink and enjoy the music with your friends.

It's a crowded zone on Thursdays and Saturdays night, typically the meeting place for the young people of Valladolid since it's the best placed area of bars and pubs, in the heart of Valladolid, close to the clubs and perfect to have this last drink before going home or to the club.

San Miguel´s zone is a square with lots of bars, but its attractiveness is getting low. Bars as Sotabanco (I think now the name is Flamingo), where a lot of students used to go, among them lots of Erasmus students, are being less crowded nowadays. This was one of the bars where we used to go every night, but we don´t like the ambience right now, so we stop going there, although sometimes we still go. Others bar that we visited every Thursday were Manuscrito y el Kuikas, but the same thing as in Sotabanco is happening, we stop going there because the change of the ambience in the bars and also in the zone. Gardoqui street was, some years ago like las Ramblas of Valladolid parties, but it has gone down in the last few years. There are still some bars (some of the mentioned before) in which we go just to remember the old times.

One of the bars that we are keep on going and that hasn´t been contaminated is Despensa, which is in León street, next to Siete Enanitos (another bar that´s also ok). It´s a small bar, very small, but the prices are good for students' pockets and the waiters are nice people who you can ask any song you want. In addition, before closing around 4 a. m. on Thursday, the DJ always puts some rock music or the most stupid song you can ask. It´s a good place.

Also, in Plaza San Miguel, there are some bars that I never like like Soley, tiny, dark and with bad music and uncomfortable; El Soportal, expensive and for older people; Boheme, a copy of Soley but with more space and a bit of better music. Definitely, any past time was better for Plaza San Miguel.
