It's a friendly city, in the center of valenciennes there are many stores, a mall. There are also a cinema, ice rink, bowling, lazer tag, etc.

What is the student lifestyle like in Valenciennes?

You can share a drink with other students in bars, restaurants. Students gather in bars or club, the thursday there is often a student party organized by student association. We have parties in bars but they close at 3. 00am so we can go to continue the party at someone house. If bars are not appreciated there is a train station where you can take a train to go to the big city of Lille. The border of Belgium is close too, you can go out there also.

Not difficult, there is a lot of choice, you can go check in agences or web sites availabe flats, a hall of residence, you can rent student room.

Good food, like french fries.

The museum.

The best for me, La Scala, in the center, close to the mall.

Is the nightlife good in Valenciennes? Where is good to go?

It depends, better in the end of the week. Close to the train station there many bars close one to the others.
