Experience in University of Primorska, Slovenia by Jana
Generally, what is University of Primorska like?
It is a very small university. It is different system than in Spain. Here there is one university divide into small faculties. So it is not everything in the same building like URJC (Universidad Rey Juan Carlos), but different careers in different buildings all over the city like in Ljubljana, or even in different cities like on university of Primorska which includes Koper, Izola and Protorose.
What are the facilities like?
Some of them are new - most of them and some of them are old, but still, everything is nice and modern.
What are the tutors like?
I don't know any of them - because I'm home student, so I don't need their help.
Are the lessons easy in University of Primorska?
They are easier for Erasmus students. They are mostly in Slovenian language. At the end of the lesson the teacher explains the whole lesson again in English. Usually, foreign students have also easier exams, based on seminary paper or something similar - because there is no English lessons. For us it is different. More complicated, more work - theoretical and practical.
Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
Hm, they have some picnics, freshmen parties, some Erasmus activities, sports activities, I was never there:)
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
It is very high quality. When I see in Spain that people who will be kindergarden teacher never go to kindergarden I was shocked. Here every week work is divided on work in class - theoretical and work in kindergarden where we have some activities to show and perform actual work with kids, in every year of study.
Are there any stories you can share?
Actually, just that faculties are small, everybody knows everybody, so we are very close together.
