My experience at NOVA University of Lisbon, in Portugal

Generally, what is Universidade Nova de Lisboa like?

UNL, also known as Universidade Nova de Lisboa, is a university with internationally recognized research and quality teaching and one of the best universities in Portugal. This institution has distinct elements at a national level, both in training programs and in pure and applied research. UNL has nine academic units and two main campuses, one in Campolide (Lisbon) and another in Caparica (Almada), where the Faculty of Sciences and Technology is located.

As a former student, I believe UNL has many different and challenging opportunities for students who are interested in getting more in touch within their fields. In my case, I graduated from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology and I could not choose other institution to learn what I love: science! So, I guarantee that UNL can challenge yourself as much as you want.

What are the facilities like?

The Faculty of Science and Technology has many different buildings organized within the fields of study. It is considered one of the biggest campus in the country with lots of green spaces where you can just rest, socialize and take some sun too. For the ones who look for a calm place to study you have a beautiful and big library located in the middle of the campus. Furthermore, you can choose from a wide range of restaurants and snack-bars to eat and play some games with your friends.

Are the lessons easy in Universidade Nova de Lisboa?

Lessons are an important topic regardless of the university in question. From my experience I would say that you will always find some difficulties during lectures, but of course this depends on your interest in the field and topics in question. Moreover, most of the teachers are available to clear any doubts you may have.

Are there any stories you can share?

This Faculty is very special not only because you can challenge yourself every day, but also because you can get to know many people that you will always remember and if you stay open to new experiences surely you will have many things to do. Make sure you take some time to walk on the beach because one of the best things of this campus' location is the connection to the beach, to which you can get in about 5 minutes by car. It is the perfect combination between studies and beautiful sunsets to restore your energy.
