Experience in University of Pune, India by Aditya

Generally, what is University of Pune like?

Great in terms of quality! Very hard to get good marks (which shows the top quality of the university), but now a days they have increased the leniency of marks. This is because other city marks might be higher even though level of university is not, hence Pune caught up in order to reflect outside of city & country.
It has always been called Oxford of the East, it has hundreds of Engineering and Science colleges under it apart from Commerce & Arts and now Management. However, choosing the right college under the Pune University still is the most important than just the University degree.

What are the facilities like?

The University in itself has a huge beautiful campus, an the colleges under it (affiliated to it) are spread across the city and district of Pune.
It needs to be mentioned that Pune University campus and facilities are great and some colleges even greater, but some do not cut up to mark. All is important in choosing the right college for the right degree.

What are the tutors like?

On an average, fairly ok. Depending on college, they can be excellent too.
The university faculty is still one of the best known in India & Asia.

Are the lessons easy in University of Pune?

Not always, depends on the degree, level and courses chosen.

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

Yes, many. Sports, academic, extra-curricular, cultural, entertainment, job-oriented exchange programs, a lot of it.

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

Yes, absolutely. At least better on an average compared to other Universities.
