Experience in Ujung Pandang, Indonesia by Chernovita

What is it like to live in Ujung Pandang? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

People have to becareful when go out in the night because the safety is quite bad especially in the quite place but it will be fine in the afternoon. I'm not really recommended people to live there but for holiday is fine because we have many beautiful beaches there and there is also historical building that we can visit. The city is quite crowded and have a warm weather.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ujung Pandang?

They mostly hang out together when weekend or when they have freetime. When they hang out, they usually go to cinema and after that go for lunch or dinner together

How much does it cost to live in Ujung Pandang?

The cost living is quite cheap. You're not gonna spend a lot of money there because our curency is really low.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ujung Pandang? Is there any advice you can give?

not really, there is a lot of cheap hotels that we can use. But for house I think it would be hard and for the apartment we didn't have it.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Because we live near the sea so we have a lot of seafood and the food really tasty. But it will be quite hard to find pork there because the majority in there is Muslim so mostly they sell chicken, beef, and seafood.
My favorite dish is the seafood cause It's taste very fresh

What places would you recommend visiting in Ujung Pandang?

First thing you have to visit the beach because we have beautiful beach but you have to use boat to get there. it's around 30 minutes to 1 hour, depends on which island that you want to go.
You also can visit the historical buiding there, named Ford Rotterdam. also we have shopping center if you want to go for shopping.

Is it good to eat out in Ujung Pandang? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

for everyday, i'm not really recommend it because i'm not sure about the hygiene and safety of the food but it will be fine if sometimes. RM. Ujung Pandang is my favorite restaurant but there is a lot of restaurants that nice also

Is the nightlife good in Ujung Pandang? Where is good to go?

I'm not sure about the nightlife cause I don't have experience on it when i was in there.
