How Erasmus program influence my life
How to make you childhood dream become possible?
"I want to study at the top technology university in Vietnam, giving me the chance to go abroad, open my mind, help more people then change the world.” I was excited to share with a friend of my dad about my childhood dream.
"What? It’s impossible! Be realistic, kid. And remember, you are just a little girl coming from the countryside. There is no way you can enter that university or go abroad, just study at a regular university, get a decent job, and get a rich guy to get married, have a bus load of kids." The uncle said.
Being known as one of the most stubborn kids in my small village of Vietnam, I stubbornly kept that childhood dream and lived up to it as I grew up. I did not let the little man idea of the man stop me from working on my plan. I nonstop studied, successfully entered the university and thanks to Erasmus scholarship, I went abroad for studying.
On top of that, the 1 year-program with Erasmus scholarship helped me clarify the how to make my childhood dream become possible. To change the world simply changing myself to become better every day, add more values to myself to people’s life.
In particular, Erasmus has had a huge impact on my employability and social entrepreneurship.
Regarding employability, I can see an enormous positive transformation in terms of job opportunities, salary, position and recognition. The reasons because of:
- Holding a foreign Masters granted by a well-know scholarship
- Having a big international network by studying in an international environment
Most importantly, the transformation of myself developments – the skills sets- that I developed during the program is the key factor.
After the 1 year program, I found my true best self, always willing to change to be better, always open, seeing things from different angles, willing to learn from everyone and appreciating little things in life. I could translate the secret of my living is to nonstop learning, loving and giving.
Due to a big transformation of my self-development, I was confident to quit my engineer job to jump into a total different job that I have been in love with – even organizer. I was confident to share with them “Why it is the job for me? It is passion. Passion cannot be taught while skills can be”. I felt thankful to get paid by doing what I love and that move me towards my life mission.
Regarding entrepreneurship, the 1 year program helped me raised my entrepreneurship life one more step. When I was a small kid, I wanted to become a business woman to set up a business where my whole family can work in.
As I grew up, the ideal got bigger, I wanted to do it for my hometown. Later on, I wanted to set up an international organization where everyone from over the world can work together. I called the project is flat world.
Flat world included 2 packages of tourism and education located in Vietnam. I shared it with my teachers and friends in my masters program and I cannot express how much thankful I am because of their comments and support to build business plan and practical issues. I now changed it into nonstop world to be aligned with my nonstop living idea – I called nonstop World.
The idea is to inspire people to live fully, meaningfully, love completely and openly and give joyfully and devotedly. I am working on writing/speaking and organizing events to connect people together. I believe nobody is smarter than all of us.
The question is that is everyone going to get the same outcomes from the program? Is it better to study with other scholarship? My answer is simple – it totally depends on you. You need to make the best use of the opportunity. It is possible or impossible depends on you.
As long as you as you believe in yourself – as long as you nonstop learning, loving and giving – as long as you put yourself into the position of serving - you can make the impossible become possible.
