Second Week of Uni - Looking up!

So after a bit of a train wreck of a first week I spent several hours trying to re-arrange my timetable yet again with classes that I might understand and be welcome in. Once that was done all that was left to do was see how the classes went the next week and try and catch up on the work that I had missed, if any. Luckily for me the first few classes seemed ok, no one told me to leave and I understood most of it even if they were a little boring. I would recommend that you don’t take any modules that are classed as annual as they seem to be a lot harder and you can’t drop them after the Christmas holidays, so if they are horrible you are stuck.

I did give myself a day off University on Wednesday, it was only one class, but I wasn’t feeling overly well. Instead Kath, Claire and I went for some lunch and then bought some stationary to do some hard work, which involved catching up on Take Me Out and X Factor. I have unfortunately lost my day off in the reshuffle of classes, but I do have quite a bit of time for naps after my 9ams which is really nice and should help with the falling asleep in class. I was a bit upset when I got home for my nap one day and there were builders in the lounge noisily knocking holes in the walls to fix some pipes or something, so no nap for me.

The general consensus is that Geography modules seem to be quite good, Spanish language modules such as syntax and things are quite difficult, and a lot of the other language teachers particularly English Language seem reluctant to have Erasmus students in their classes. It has also been really nice having classes with other Erasmus students so that you don’t feel so alone, and when they ask questions to Erasmus students specifically you are not alone in answering! One lecturer has told us off for conferring amongst ourselves in English about an answer, which in the end none of us knew anyway, he told us we could only speak in English until the third week and then we have to speak in Spanish only. Feeling much more positive going into this next week, perhaps I will make it to all of my classes.
