Experience in University of Bradford, United Kingdom by Dominika
Generally, what is University of Bradford like?
First expression to me was a lovely campus, amazing buildings and facilities, and great atmosphere. That was before I begun my course, just having trips around on my own.
After I begun my course, I guess I got used to I a lot, but I also discovered more that just buildings. There is a lot of helpful staff around, timetable was easily accessible, and course was enjoyable for everybody, people who just begun their journey with IT, as well as those who were much more advanced.
What are the facilities like?
One word - amazing. I loved the fact that our labs were open 24/7, as well as library (obviously we could borrow books 24/7 too). Everything worked well and even as a poor student without laptop or money to buy book, uni gives you everything you need to be a top student at all times.
What are the tutors like?
Every tutor is deferent and obviously not every one of them is as easy going as the other. There are good and bad ones, but even if your tutor is t the best, you always get a chance to meet someone who will help you throughout the year anyway, no matter if they're your tutor or not. Everyone is so open and will always try to help.
Are the lessons easy in University of Bradford?
Lessons were super easy. Every lecturer had a presentation with them, and if not they'd update their own notes from past years so that students had something to rely on (obviously not all of them could make notes on the go).
Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
There is absolutely plenty. They have their own cinema that plays films twice a week, they have specialized events for different faculties (trips, contests, BBQs), and every so often there are big events for the beginning and end of the year with a big party and BBQ. Obviously our student bar is also open 7 days a week with special student nights once a week!
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
I'd rate it 3/5 stars, just because a few of my lecturers were not easily accessible and it was hard to listen to their lessons. But if you want to learn, you will no matter what. You always have an amazing library on your side, and helpful students.
