Experience in Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, Mexico by Andres

Generally, what is Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí like?

It gives the best of what a subsidized (but still independent) education institute can give. Students usually are good people and always disposed to help or to have a good party or chill time. It´s hard to talk about how education is, due to each faculty and each grade has its "fame" and level. Besides it´s still depending con the professors, because they have . Though, you can easily enjoy an Erasmus in UASLP and have a great experience, it's México!

What are the facilities like?

Some facilities are very new, some are fine and some are old. Of course it all depends of which faculty do you go. But being old does not mean bad, because they are constantly through a renovation process. Some labs are well equipped with the necessary hardware. Perhaps in some (rare) cases you can find them antiquated, but they still have the basics and more important. Besides, unlike other well-equipped universities which only show but don´t let you use, in UASLP labs students usually get to know how to work with the lab equipment.

What are the tutors like?

All depends, some are very nice, useful. Others could be indiferent. Buy still, as a Erasmus student, you are priority so you can't worry.

Are the lessons easy in Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí?

As I wrote before, it al depends on the faculty, grade, subject and the professor, as any university.Engineering, Medicine, and Sciences could be the toughest ones. Engineering and Medicine (and now in days Psychology) are the most "famous" and hard faculties; but not impossible.

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

A lot, there are activities organized by every Faculty's Student Conseil and also of the Department of Culture, as there is also a Cultural Institute where you can take recreative courses.

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

As I wrote before, it al depends on the faculty, grade, subject and the professor, as any university.Engineering, Medicine, and Sciences could be the toughest ones. Engineering and Medicine (and now in days Psychology) are the most "famous" and hard faculties; but not impossible.
