Descovering Europe's paradise: the Azores

Hello!

I'm gonna tell you why i'm so happy that i decided to get an Erasmus grant and go to the Azores. It was the best choice of my life because i had the opportunity to find myself, to improve my language skills, to descover that beautiful place, that paradise.

About the faculty, i can say that i learned a lot of new and interesting things, i didn't have problems with passing exams. The classes I had and the exams... everything was in english despite the fact that they are portuguese speakers.

They made it easier for us and everything was fine. What made me very surprised, it's the fact that there is a very close relationship among professors and students.

I'm very happy that I had the chance to meet students from other countries and to know about their culture and lifestyle.

About Portugal's culture in general, I love the fact that people are very friendly, nice and religious. The food is good as well, for example, they prepare Francesinha which is a sandwich in sauce served with french fries.

About the landscapes, it's true when people say that the Azores represent the paradise of Europe because, wherever you go, you can see a lot of beautiful flowers on the roads and you have such a nice view to the ocean. It looks like paradise.

After this experience, I can say that I have more self-trust, I'm able to speak better english and I learned portuguese, I'm more open to foreign students that come in my country, more open to other activities.

I learned to manage my life without the help of my parents, I learned to apreciate people more, I'm open-minded now... So, it changed my life. I suggest everyone apply for an erasmus grant. I swear it can be the best experience of your life.

If you have the opportunity to go on Erasmus, choose São Miguel. It's an amazing island and you won't regret it!
