Experience in Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain by Ella

Generally, what is Autonomous University of Barcelona like?

Terrible
Building is entirely concrete and old, seats in classrooms are terrible and very uncomfortable, at the wrong level for you to comfortably sit with your laptop on the desk.
Teaching quality is very very very far below the standard in the UK
There are so many strikes and days when the uni/faculty is closed or classes or not running that you can miss up to ten classes per semester per subject.
All signage and uni correspondence is in Catalan which is difficult for international students who are already trying hard to understand Spanish.

What are the facilities like?

Awful.
Toilets more often than not don’t have toilet paper or soap, and there are too few toilets for each part of the uni.
Very dated building all made from concrete and not a nice environment to learn in.
Chalk boards, not powerpoints used

What are the tutors like?

Terrible. One of my lecturers fell asleep at the desk in front of the whole class while he was supposed to be teaching. Quality of teaching is far worse than UK

Are the lessons easy in Autonomous University of Barcelona?

Too easy for me personally

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

Not many, and it is not easy to find out about societies

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

No, terrible
