Sinop City

Sinop city is characterized by its coasts, waterfalls and resorts for rest and recreation, and is rich in its cultural and historical heritage, as well as the beauty of nature, where enjoy the sea, green mountains, and picturesque nature.

Sinop is located in the northernmost part of Turkey, from the Black Sea, and is one of the most beautiful and tranquil cities of Turkey, a charming city by nature, with clean beaches, clean sea, and good people. There are a large number of tourist areas, which attract tourists from all over the world.

The White Lake (Akgol), one of the most beautiful places in Sinop, which gives the nature of romance and beauty, as we find in the city of Sinop, a 20-meter beach, and a picnic area (national parks), provides all services to the tourist. The region's pine forests are the second largest in Turkey.

There are also wonderful waterfalls, which is about 42 kilometers away from the town of Sinop in a village called Tatlica, and these waterfalls are unprecedented because of the beauty of nature around them, and the characteristics of water flowing from the rocks.

The city of Sinop, has hosted many different civilizations, and we find this in some ruins, and ancient historical monuments, to date.

Historically, the Seljuk period in Sinop showed a prosperous progress in architecture, and a remarkable development in other aspects at this time, compared to the Ottoman, Byzantine and Roman periods, and to this day we can see the remaining historical monuments of this period.

Its natural geographic port, located in the south of the peninsula, is well known among sailors, where they resort to it during the storm season, and due to the difficulty of transportation, some activities related to sea transport and ports in Sinop have not been sufficiently developed.

The people of Sinop fishing in the Black Sea are a major source of livelihood, with more than half of the fish caught in the vicinity of the Sinop peninsula.

Some important monuments to visit in Sinop are:

Sinop City

- Sinop Castle

It was established to protect the city in the 7th century BC, and was used after its repair in the Roman, Byzantine and Seljuk periods. Today, it stands as one of the city's historic landmarks.

The city's walls are completely surrounded by its narrowest section, the neck of the peninsula, the northern walls of 880 meters, the southern walls of 400 meters, the eastern walls of 500 meters, and the western walls of 270 meters.

- Balatlar Church

One of the treasures of the historic city, it is estimated that its construction was used as a theater, or bath in the Roman era, and was converted into a church during the Byzantine period, was nationalized in 2000, by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and opened to the public, where there are old and precious murals.

- Alaaddin Kikubat Mosque

It was established in the Seljuk period, just after the conquest of Sinop, during the reign of the Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Izz al-Din Kikous in 1214. This mosque was built by Aladdin Kikubat.

- Port of AK Leman

A historic port built in BC during the Roman state, it is now a beautiful tourist area as a nature reserve overlooking the sea and surrounded by a huge amount of trees. There are wooden hotels to stay in the port of Ak liman, and camping is also possible with a private tent.

- Sinop Peninsula

Surrounded by water from all sides, there is a natural bridge linking it with the coast.

- Saricum Coast

If you love swimming, the coast of Saricum will be the perfect address for you. The Surrey Com coast has all the tourist services that a tourist can need such as restaurants, cafes, lifeguards, net pitches and diving instructors.

- Baba's Paradise Tea

A natural paradise intended for tourists from inside and outside Turkey, because of its brilliant beauty pleased the viewers. The Baba Paradise tea includes the pure Baba River, which passes through the center of its trees and herbs, and at the end of the river basin collects warm water useful for the prevention and treatment of skin, bone and internal diseases.

- Inalti Cave

Sinop City

The cave was equipped with tourist services in 1995. The cave of God gave to the city of Sinop as one of the beautiful natural gifts. Its inner atmosphere is cold and has many water droplets mixed with frozen clay that dazzle the visitor and push him to ponder the creator's ability.

- Erfelek tatlica waterfalls

Do not forget to visit erfelek to sit on one of the banks of the rivers or sit on one of the seats placed in its cold and healing waters.

- Sinop Lake

Surrounded by tall mountains covered in a relaxing green color, it is the city's favorite place for barbecues.

- Sinop prison

Created by the Ottomans in 1568, the Turkish Republic continued to use it as a prison until 1999, when it was transformed into a museum that embodies the life of prisoners in the Ottoman Empire.

Sinop City

Sinop is also an ideal university center for students, where the cost of living is low for students in terms of shopping, delicious food and entertainment, and the city by nature offers the opportunity for sports through sports facilities available to all.
