How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I stayed 1 year. I got Erasmus money (around 1900€ for the whole year). I got money from my country (France) - around 100€ per month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Torun?
A lot of parties, a lot of Erasmus students (most of them are Turkish and Spanish or French), the ESN proposes many activities and the life in the dorm is nice.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Torun to other students?
Yes.
What is the food like?
Different, but you can find some food you usually eat.
Did it cost you much effort to find your accommodation in Torun?
No.
How much does it cost to live in Torun?
I got a student accommodation that cost me 600zl (around 150€) for a single room.
If you take a double room (you will be 2 in the same room), it will cost you 400zl (around 90€).
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes it's ok (not everyone talks in English).
You will have free Polish lessons during the semester.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Torun from your city?
By plane.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Torun?
Pijalnia, Number One, Kredens, Torunska, Stars Club, Arsenal, Grotas...
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Torun?
Pierogarnia, Manekin, Kredens.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
The Old Town.
