Experience in Toruń, Poland by Agata
What is it like to live in Toruń? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Toruń is big enough to find nearly everything you need and not be bored and small enough to access everything easily and not get stuck. I highly recommend using a bike. The city is flat and round. Really great for biking. There is more and more bike paths as well, I personally take shortcuts through some lil forests and parks within the city. There are bike parkings and it's quite safe to leave your bike (locked) when you do your stuff.
What is the student lifestyle like in Toruń?
1 of the 3 people you cross at the street between October and June is a student. On July-September 1 of the 3 people you cross is a tourist.
How much does it cost to live in Toruń?
You can find both, cheap food and fancy restaurants. Beer is cheap though.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Toruń? Is there any advice you can give?
For accommodation I would recommend renting a private flat. You can have nice apartments to share with other students for slightly more money than in the dormitory but much better experience.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
I'm a vegan, so I don't have many places to recommend.
What places would you recommend visiting in Toruń?
Just be and go around.
Is it good to eat out in Toruń? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
I like cooking so I don't really go out so often. It's good to have an apartment with a nice kitchen.
Is the nightlife good in Toruń? Where is good to go?
Friday and Saturday nights.
