Hello everybody! I hope that you are all well. I want to briefly tell you about the square in Tingo María which is its main square.

Tingo María is a city that is located in the middle of our fabulous central jungle and has amazing points that you should travel around. The best way is to start the tour from its traditional main square. When I arrived here, the bus left us very close to there and even though I didn't have a map, by asking the locals I was able to get to the main square without any problem.

As you know, all the cities in Peru have a main square and Tingo María is no exception. You will find accommodation around this square, which is where I decided to stay during my time there.

Meeting point

You will be able to find several places to stay, as well as a lot of busy restaurants, shops and of course the bars such as Trapiche where you can try some delicious cocktails.

In the main square in Tingo María, there is also an arch that is the entrance to the Peruvian Amazon. I went there in March and despite the rain at times, I can not complain because the temperature here was very nice as well as the warmth of its people and its varied cuisine.

A good place to eat

A good place for delicious breakfasts can be easily found at any point of the main square in Tingo María. For example there are several places to get 'tacachos con cecina' (a Peruvian dish with roasted plantain and pork).

At night, close to the side where the church is, you can find some outdoor activities and places that sell desserts for those who like sweet things, such as the traditional 'mazamorras' (a milky maize pudding) or you can also take the opportunity in the morning to try one of the jungle fruit juices which are natural and very delicious. I recommend it 100%.

On the other hand, I will tell you that unlike other squares in Peru, this square in Tingo María has only recently been established. It is only about 22 years old and this is where the main avenue, Peru Avenue is located.

Taxicholos

In the square there is also gardens and banks where you can take a seat and relax without a problem. At night there are more people walking around the bars and there are also a lot of motor bike taxis or taxicholos travelling around its paths.

I hope that this information can be useful for when you come to visit this interesting point within the city of Tingo Maria, a city that is located in the central jungle and has many interesting things to learn and enjoy.

Remember that there are several buses that go from Lima to Tingo Maria daily, which is one of the most beautiful destinations we have in the central jungle, green, unique, and with a delicious meal waiting for you.
