What is it like to live in Tilburg? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It is a very small town with limited opportunities. I would not recommend it to Erasmus students. Also the university is not very good, especially the department of social and behavioral sciences where I studied. Most of the professors are inexperienced and they don't care at all.

What is the student lifestyle like in Tilburg?

There are students from all over the world, very friendly and open-mind. It is very easy to make friends and that was the best thing that happened to me there. Student organizations also organize parties and events for students but there are limited places to go.

How much does it cost to live in Tilburg?

It's quite cheap comparing to other dutch cities. Rent 300-400 approximately per month for a room or less if you want to live with too many roomates.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Tilburg? Is there any advice you can give?

Well it is quite hard but in the end you will find sth. Check IESN marketspace on FB, wonen 013(house agency), Kamernet.nl (online site you need to pay a fee 20 euro)

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I don't like Dutch food.

What places would you recommend visiting in Tilburg?

Cadinsky, Philip cafe, Studio, De Spaarbanks Cafe, 013, The Irish Pub Clancy's, Berlijn Cafe.

Is it good to eat out in Tilburg? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I have tried international dishes like sushi, Chinese-Indonesian restaurants, Mexican (there is one near the university), tapas bar all these were good you will find them there are not that many in the place.

Is the nightlife good in Tilburg? Where is good to go?

Not really. There are only few pubs in the city center (the ones I described before) which is too small (heuvel )and people only go out in the weekends. You had better go out to Eindhoven.

What advice would you give future students heading to Tilburg?

Go to a better place.
