Experience in Tilburg, Netherlands by Annebelle
What is it like to live in Tilburg? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The city is terrible. It's cold and there is a bad atmosphere. Besides of that it's close to some beautiful places. Den Bosch and Breda are just 20/30 minutes away from the city centre by train. The public transport in the Netherlands (and Tilburg) is good. I will not recommend the city. I lived in Amsterdam for three months and that's much better than the south. It's easier to make friends and there are more places to go.
What is the student lifestyle like in Tilburg?
There are some places where you could have a drink or go out. It's not big and there is no disco.
How much does it cost to live in Tilburg?
It depends... Some people eat a month with 100 euros. That seems difficult to me.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Tilburg? Is there any advice you can give?
No, it's not difficult. You can search in groups on Facebook.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The traditional Dutch food is not so good. In the Netherlands we eat also fries and snacks (that's delicious). We also eat pasta, pizza, meat...
What places would you recommend visiting in Tilburg?
I don't know. Visit Den Bosch or Breda.
Is it good to eat out in Tilburg? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes, there are some places where you can eat very good with low prices. You can go to student restaurants like Studio and Polly Magoo in the Korte Heuvel. We also have a McDonald's in the city centre for a fast eat. There are also some pizza and donershops.
Is the nightlife good in Tilburg? Where is good to go?
You can go to the city centre. In the Korte Heuvel and the street where the McDonald's is you can find the nightlife.
