Why did you choose to go to The Hague, Netherlands?

I found the host office for my internship in this city.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship was for 6 months, I received about 500 euros per month. I also get paid from the office where I work.

What is the student lifestyle like in The Hague?

It's good and calm. If you like all day party and crazy life the Hague shouldn't be your destination.

Would you recommend the city and the University of The Hague to other students?

Yes, in the end it is a typical dutch city, so you can experience the dutch life.

What is the food like?

The food is expensive and not good. Cooking at your own is the best option.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in The Hague?

Fortunately no, I found accommodation through internet advertisments about houses for rent.

How much does it cost to live in The Hague?

Of course it depends on how much you want to spend. For me it was about 600-700 euros all included.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The dutch language is very difficult. Luckily, almost everyone speaks English, so if you dont look for a permanent job, English is just fine.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to The Hague from your city?

Plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in The Hague?

Grote Markt.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in The Hague?

Not really!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The historic center is nice, you should definitely walk around the parliament. The Escher museum is great, as well as the city museum. There are some nice parks to visit and of course the beach and the dunes.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to The Hague in the future?

Try to get a bike and use it as long as you can, public transport is expensive! Don't forget to visit all the cities nearby, not only the big ones, like Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Utrecht, but also Leiden or Delft are cute places to visit.
