There are many music festivals or just concerts held in Tbilisi, and I don't know if you should be surprised or not, but many people go there. Whether or not they like to listen to the bands or groups or whatsoever, they go there and have fun, in general.

So why do people like music? What does it have, that makes people want to listen to it or dance on it? Well, perhaps, it's a rhythm, that gives them energy. I've heard, the perfect rhythm to make people dance on your music is the one that resembles you heartbeat. So, many electronic songs play at or around 128 BPM. But why? Heart rate or pulse is the number of times a person's heart beats per minute. According to medicine, a person's resting heart rate is from 60 to 100, but it really depends on the individual. Also many conditions play some role in heart rate. Anyway, they say 128 BPM is a magic number. I guess, you or, maybe, some people have watched this film "We Are Your Friends" with Zac Efron and Emily Ratajkowski in it and Zac playing all DJ and stuff... So there he says, that 128 BPM is a "magic number", and, that house songs are somewhere at from 110 to 130 BPM and that's why many people dance on it, I think.

So, the main reason why people listen to music is to get pleasure and relax. Every one of us is individually developed and has his/her own taste and opinion about different kinds of music, but mainly the majority wants to enjoy listening to music.

First of all, music is something, that can unite different people, because they can enjoy it. Secondly, people listen to music to relax a little, pause their lives for some time. Moreover, music helps people concentrate on things. With its help one can be very creative. There was an experiment somewhere if classical music could affect people's memory and studying, and they came to a conclusion, that it does affect the memory and how many things people can remember while listening to classical music. And so, to sum up, I would argue that the major reason why music is so popular and demandable is entertainment _ people enjoy it and rest their minds, and, also, it can be very helpful, because music can let people use their minds in original ways and be creative.

Some time ago, I found my old essay about music. It's a little pessimistic and sad, but I totally agree with the ending. So, I would like to share it:

"If I was brave, I wouldn’t tell my thoughts this paper. I wouldn’t let it know anything. But I’m a coward. And coward people often don’t know who they can rely on. They choose the way of paper. They chat with papers like they were alive or like they were their close friends. There is an option: friends can’t be often counted on. And papers can be.

I was just wondering, how many people think that they are people. Silly ha? I mean, people think they have a good behaviour, they are in a better society, etc. they can’t even realize that we are all like each other. No matter what we wear, what we are like, what colour we are, what society we are from, etc. we are all some kind of jerks who build cities and countries. And who thinks about others? nobody. Even if anyone has hit a thought about somebody in his head, the environment and the people around him make him forget it. Simply, everything is ruinable. As my teacher always says, it’s one step from a human to a monkey and then you have to go through everything _ a huge step _ to become a human from a monkey.

You know, life is some kind of a joke… you regret everything you do, sooner or later. There’s something…  oh, music. Music makes our lives better, than they are. Music changes our mood. When we listen to music, we think we can do anything. It’s a great moment and feeling. Music can gather us together."
