Hidden place in Tbilisi _ art stuff

The introduction

In this article I want to tell you about this hidden place in Tbilisi, which I just found out about. I can’t really name the place, because there’s no name for that in general, because there are lots of things there.

Well, I was just going there to get something and while walking around wondering where I should go, I found this beautiful place, where people should go. It was the toys all around that took my attention and then I realized, that it was the mechanical toys exhibited in that area and no one seemed to be around to ask something.

What is it?

The place is an old building, which has two storeys and the second one is been renovated, because when I opened the door and went inside, there was almost nothing there and there were just some walls around and some of them were almost destroyed. Looking at them you would think, that it was some old building without anyone to take care of it and it was being ruined by the time.

The building is pretty beautiful from the outside. It’s built with the red bricks and it has huge doors. There are the stairs going down to the ground floor from the outside and I went there after seeing some people walking down there.

When I walked into that floor, I saw these toys hanging on the walls and at first I didn’t realize what it was. There was nobody around and there was a large hall on the left. I went there and saw this exhibition of the mechanical toys used in the toy theatres and there were plenty of them.

The main thing located in that building is this “Le Khaindrao Production”,which is Giorgi Khaindrava’s cinema studio. They can also film some things for you with their equipment and staff.

The location

It’s really easy to find this place, because it’s located nearby the Philarmony, just when you go down to the Heroes Square.

How to get there?

If you get to the Rustaveli metro station, you can then go into the underground and get across the road. Then you can take bus no.61 or 88 or 140 and in two  stops you can get off the bus and walk a little bit down towards the Heroes Square. There you will see the Gulf petrol stationand just beside it there’s a path going inside towards this brick-built building.

What’s inside?

Inside the building you will find many things, however, the best part is in the underground, where you can get to by the metal stairs and get inside this building.

You will find these mechanical toys all over the place and if you get to the left, there’s an exhibition of those toys, which some people really love to see. It’s an amazing place for me, because I have never seen the toys exhibition like that.

There’s also a free wi-fi with the password written there.

If you go to the right, you will see this well-decorated café-bar, where there’s even a royal piano there and there are some performances held like art gatherings and things like that.

Why visit the place?

You should visit the place if you love exhibitions or some extravagant places with creepy pathways. It’s a place of art and the art lovers gather there and not just usual people, and that’s why it’s not that well-known place, I think.
